An exciting new technology leadership role has been created to deliver exceptional end user experience for our colleagues.  The Lead Technology Consultant for End User Experience is in the Enterprise Services team of IT Services and will focus on the IT services that support our colleagues.  Our strategy relies on the development of our digital capability and on us driving changes into the way we work. If you are a someone with a true thirst for pushing banking beyond 'banking', pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and exploring news ways of working then this role could be for you.

This role will report directly into the Senior Manager of Enterprise Services and will be responsible, in a team of three peers, for providing operational technology leadership and design expertise across the Enterprise Services organisation.  This role will introduce change in the organisation by applying thought leadership on continuous service improvement and by advocating the end user perspective as a quality measure. We are looking for someone who can live and breath our 'smart disruption' value in order to innovate and explore new boundaries. 

The Lead Technology Consultant for End User Experience role is about:

  • Supporting live service while delivering high volume of change.
  • Providing an escalation point for critical incidents, including on-call outside business hours.
  • Identifying improvements to improve end user experience of our platforms.
  • Providing task elaboration for the Enterprise Services team technical specialists.
  • Providing prioritisation across platform improvements and project changes.
  • Providing technical guidance for Enterprise Services and wider IT Services management
  • Engaging and influencing Application Owners to deliver more reliable and resilient services.
  • Providing design consultancy for both Infrastructure and application design.
  • Providing guidance for service management teams and respond to their feedback on service quality.
  • Providing leadership, coaching, mentoring and motivation for a highly technical team.
  • Developing a growth mindset within the team through leading by example.
  • Defining and review development plans for senior technical personnel within the team.
  • Building effective relationships with IT colleagues, suppliers and internal customers, enabling partnerships to define and implement strategies which support business needs and direction.
  • Improving our delivery through innovation, continuous improvement and automation.
  • Work alongside other Lead Technology Consultants to protect service across all bank services.

We would love you to have:

  • High professional standards, self-motivated and achievement / outcome focused.
  • Proven IT leadership experience including relevant technologies and toolsets.
  • Continuous improvement and innovative thinking - proven experience in automation, streamlining processes and driving efficiencies.
  • An end user experience mindset, to be able to identify, analyse and prioritise technical opportunities to enhance the quality of a service.
  • Great interpersonal skills and the ability to adopt an encouraging and enabling style with emphasis on team working.
  • A proven track record of communicating and influencing at all levels across an organisation.
  • Proven troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical expertise in one or more of Identity Management (Okta, IBM Security Identity Manager, IBM Security Access Manager, Active Directory), Windows Platform (Microsoft Windows Server, ESX/VMWare, storage, networking services), or Desktop/Endpoint technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to operate at the highest levels of an organisation.
  • Ability to influence strategy in conjunction with colleagues.
  • Proven track record of delivery, managing multiple work streams.
  • Experience of delivering to a high standard and consistently meeting timelines
