We have a phenomenal opportunity for an experienced Senior Marketing Manager to join us, during a really exciting time for CYBG, in case you haven’t heard we ware merging with Virgin Money!

The Marketing Strategy and Operations is a new team within Brand and Marketing that is being established to provide long term direction and plans for Brand and Marketing activity, alongside driving the efficient use of budget and resources.  As part of the Marketing Strategy and Operations leadership team, you will manage a team of six and are key to ensuring that we become a customer centric and purpose lead organisation and that the marketing team focuses on long term strategy as well short-term deliverables.  You will define clear marketing plans and ensure a customer lens is applied across the three franchises by developing cross franchise customer journeys.

The Senior Manager Marketing Strategy and Planning role is about…

  • Defining a clear marketing strategy and customer strategy which are based on a strong and continually relevant customer, market and competitor factbase
  • Being one of the key players to deliver a customer-centric bank through taking a horizontal, customer view across the three Franchises.  This will require excellent critical thinking and influencing skills to ensure the three Franchise directors buy into the trade-offs that will occur.
  • Leading the strategic marketing planning process for Brand & Marketing, including the coordination of key inputs, challenge and enterprise agreement to agree the forward-looking plan over the short, medium and long term
  • Translating the strategic marketing plan into an operational marketing plan and then defining KPIs with the Senior Manager Marketing Operations that are aligned to the objectives of the Franchises in liaison with Franchise Marketing LT members
  • Ensuring consistent customer experience and messages across all three Franchises which delivers on our brand promise and company purpose
  • Command and control for cross-campaign planning (marketing, PR, social & brand), co-ordination & prioritisation. 
  • Leading the arbitration between Marketing and Franchises to ensure marketing budget and resources are applied most effectively across the Franchises

It’s essential you have…

  • Relevant experience in strategy and marketing at a leadership level with a proven track record of success
  • Extensive experience in managing strategic and annual planning cycles – ideally but not necessarily within other FS companies
  • In-depth understanding of marketing strategy development and execution
  • Insight experience either as a practitioner or user of market research and insight
  • An understanding of industry analysis, strategic analysis, competitor analysis, performance analysis, risk analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to Marketing LT and Franchise LT
  • An ability to lead and inspire the Marketing Strategy and Planning team
