As part of coming together with Virgin Money, CYBG is setting up a brand-new team within on Brand and Marketing.

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and talented Senior Governance and Control Manager, to provide long term direction and plans, as well as driving the effective use of budgets and resource within our Risk control framework.

As part of the Marketing Strategy and Operations leadership team, you will manage a team of control managers and play a key role in ensuring that a risk and compliance mind-set is embedded to all members of the Brand & Marketing team and that this adds value to customers and the business

The Senior Manager Marketing Governance and Control role is about…

  • Developing and implementing a Risk Board structure to cover both banking licences - top risks, RCSA, action plans, 2nd/3rd line management, horizon scanning, published rulings and enforcement.
  • Ensuring all of the Brand & Marketing team are aware of, understand and adhere to bank’s governance of risk and regulation, including operational risk, conduct risk, compliance risk, people risk and change risk
  • Ensuring marketing agencies and other 3rd parties understand and meet their governance and control obligations
  • Coordinating Governance & Controls requirements for Brand & Marketing, ensuring all team members adhere to the bank’s governance of risk and regulation processes and maintain the appropriate reporting standards
  • Leading the oversight of the Bank wide Communications Policy standard which provides all colleagues with clear direction on the minimum controls required to manage key customer communication risks and applied to all communications with customers in all media through all channels,
  • Defining clear governance and minimum benchmarks to support FCA Senior Managers certification regime.
  • Ensuring risk and compliance reporting standards are met
  • Provision of GDPR, trademark and Marketing Permissions consultancy.
  • Supporting the Brand and Marketing team in meeting Financial Promotions obligations

It’s essential you have…

  • Extensive experience in risk management and first line control.
  • A proven and successful track record of developing and implementing a Risk Board structure
  • An ability to lead and inspire the Marketing Governance & Control team, with previous people management experience
  • Significant and in depth up to date knowledge of the market and regulatory knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to Marketing LT
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build business relationships throughout the bank and influence
