We’ve a brilliant opening for a Corporate Finance Senior Manger reporting to the Head of Corporate Finance. In this role you’ll responsible for steering and supporting the development of the Bank’s inorganic planning and execution strategy. You’ll will be expected to work with a number of key senior stakeholder across the Bank and we will need you to develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of CYBG/Virgin Money, the Financial Services and Inorganic landscape and industry/external trends and be able to utilise this to help support the shape of the strategic agenda of the Group.
Day to day you’ll be:
Support the Head of Corporate Finance in developing and leading the Bank’s inorganic strategy including financial and commercial analysis;
Acting as day to day liaison with accountants, lawyers, financial advisers;
Working with the Head of Corporate Finance in contributing to competitive bid proposals and evaluations;
Engaging and influencing key stakeholders on implementing the Banks Inorganic Strategy to ensure consistent and simplified application;
Directly supporting activities to lead and shape key inorganic strategic analysis for CYBG Leadership Team, working with business heads and leaderships teams with a view to driving direction of the bank’s inorganic strategy;
Support the Head of Strategy in developing the Bank’s strategy partnerships through financial and commercial analysis;
Inputting to the development of the annual strategic planning cycle in conjunction with Head of Strategy and the Head of Integration;
Contributing to and supporting the development of well-defined and convincing business presentations / reports for CYBG Leadership Team to allow informed discussion and debate on the options available and associated implications;
Accountable for ensuring that all operational and execution risk, regulatory, legal and customer, including conduct, matters are fully considered;
Providing direction, guidance and support in inorganic activities aligned to the Bank’s core strategic objectives;
Supporting the management of the annual inorganic strategic planning cycle in conjunction with Head of Corporate Finance;
Taking a leading role in training, mentoring and developing managers and analysts within the team;
Contributing to developing Group-wide insight into emerging themes, trends and threats
Prepare straightforward insightful reports and presentation materials to drive partnership decisions, Leadership and Board collaboration and plan sign off
We’d love you to have:
An excellent knowledge of M&A processes, valuation methodologies, legal and regulatory frameworks for UK Inorganic options;
Leadership experience in project management and M&A planning and execution;
Understanding of industry, strategic, competitor, performance and risk analysis;
In-depth knowledge of the UK financial services industry;
Investment Banking or client advisory experience beneficial;
Experience in working with Board, Leadership Team and executive level management;
Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to tailor information to Leadership Team/Board level;
Strategic thinker with the ability to see the longer-term impacts of plans and the potential for improvement;
Ability to foster growth and development in direct and indirect reports, and use best practice techniques for coaching;
Understanding and awareness of key regulatory and industry risks facing the banking industry.
