There is lots going in CYBG just now, and Credit Models has a vital part to play. Did you know that Credit Models is an integral part of the business, responsible for managing the Credit Risk appetite framework for the Bank. 

The Data team are responsible for identifying and investigating issues that affect the data sources used by Credit Risk; working with the appropriate stakeholders and forums to develop solutions or fixes for those data issues; and identifying opportunities and driving change to improve efficiency and data quality within the Bank's data and MI landscape. 

The Data team also has a key role to play in the Bank's Annual Cyclical Scenario stress-testing programme that is required due to the Bank now being the 6th biggest in the UK.  This key regulatory work involves providing numerous data points to the BoE in the form of Stress Test Data Framework (STDF) templates, having ensured that the data has been fully reconciled and understood by stakeholders. 

This rewarding and challenging role is critical to the future success of the Bank’s consumer portfolios.  The role of a Technical Lead within Systems, Data & Reporting requires a high level of technical competence, the ability to investigate data issues and anomalies from multiple sources and the discipline to follow a defined approach to resolving those issues.

The Technical Lead role is about:

  • Leading Retail Credit's contribution to the Bank's ACS stress-testing submissions
  • Leading the investigation and resolution of Data Quality Issues (DQIs) within the Bank's numerous data sources and repositories.    
  • Support the Senior Data Manager and provide mentoring and coaching for junior team members
  • Design and maintain controls for ensuring the DQI resolution process is robust.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to support wider business initiatives in relation to both the resolution of DQIs; and the integration of new data sources into the Credit Risk data landscape.
  • Liaise with bank-wide data forums and business stakeholders to ensure the timely resolution of issues.

It’s essential that you have:

  • Experience in working with complex data sources in a Retail Risk environment.
  • Familiarity with the structure and purpose of the Retail Risk data sources and data marts.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-specialists.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent practical experience

  • Specialist knowledge of SAS
  • Experienced in project management and working with stakeholders from across the business
  • Experience of working in a Retail Banking environment
  • Significant proven experience within a Retail Risk role
