We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Specialist to join our Financial Services Data and Decisioning Team in Clydebank. As a Technical Specialist within this team specialising in Unix you will be a key part of a dynamic, high-performing team, the successful candidate will have an extensive knowledge and experience across the Unix Platform. You will be a key member of the team responsible for ensuring the delivery of an excellent service. To lead from the front. To support and problem solve. To maintain excellent customer service and prevent service impact. You will also be focussed on engineering great operational solutions which help deliver reliable and scalable products.
This person will work closely with other Technology staff and 3
rd parties and will collaborate with project teams to ensure that change within this environment is managed and controlled effectively.
The role is all about…
Supporting live service through the proactive identification of risk and swift resolution of live issues while maintaining excellent customer service.
Improving our delivery through innovation, continuous improvement and automation.
Working with project & technical teams to ensure our solutions meet the organisation’s operational and strategic needs.
Collaborating with internal and external parties to provide excellent customer service.
Engineering systems to be more reliable and scalable.
Coordinating and delivery of DR plans.
We need you to have…
Detailed Knowledge of Unix platforms: RHEL, AIX & Solaris.
Exposure to and knowledge of Veritas cluster manager, MQ, ESB, IM, WAS, etc
Experience of monitoring tools, frameworks and processes (AppDynamics, Patrol etc.)
Experience supporting production systems
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience prioritising multiple activities in a rapidly changing environment
Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
Exposure to risk and control concepts.
Proven experience providing innovation, automation, cost reduction
Flexibility in regard to working hours
Ability to effectively communicate complex situations.
We would like you to have...
Significant experience and knowledge of our critical services: High Value payments, Batch, Datastage, SAPDS, etc
Scripting and automation skills
Experience with agile methodologies
ITIL Service Management awareness (Change, Incident & Problem Management processes)
