Right now we are searching for a Sponsorship & Events Manager for Business and Corporate to join our Consumer Communications team in London, Glasgow or Gosforth. What’s the job really all about?

You will be in charge delivering an events programme for Virgin Money’s  business customers and for our Corporate Affairs team. You will lead a team delivering red hot experiences for our customers, media and colleagues and for getting the most out of our sponsorship assets. This role requires someone with a vision to bring to life the Virgin Money brand by creating an instantly recognisable ‘Virgin Experiences’ whether the event is for mortgage brokers or business account customers. The role requires liaising with teams across the Bank where you will have multiple stakeholders and being the ‘go-to’ person to deliver the toolkit to run events that will showcase the brand in the most positive light and ensure the brand experience is consistent. A key element of this role is finding a team of suppliers who can help deliver these world-class events and within that manage a budget whereby you find the most value out of every pound spent.  You will be a creative thinker who loves finding ways to bring the brand to life and a genuine team player who loves working across the whole brand and marketing function as well as the wider community of internal stakeholders in the Bank.   

Ideally you’ll have experience in sponsorship and events as well as a thorough understanding of PR and social media. You will understand how to turn content from sponsorship assets into materials the whole marketing team can use to attract, engage and retain customers. You will ideally have worked both in-house and agency side and will understand the business/corporate environment.

A Day in the Life

No two days are likely to ever be the same in this role – that’s what’s exciting about it. This is not a desk-bound job as the role holder needs to be highly visible across the Bank and externally with key stakeholders. You will travel across the country setting up and running events. We have a very exciting new direction for sponsorship which will focus on the music and entertainment space so you will be working with music-related assets in order to bring our sponsorship direction into the business and corporate space for our B2B customers.  You will be working with some of the biggest names in music and entertainment and will be bringing these assets into our approach to business and corporate events so that the Virgin DNA shines through and our events are surprisingly delightful, fun and red hot relevant.
